#vaccineswork REACHING EVERY LAST CHILD Global efforts to vaccinate infants against life-threatening diseases reached a record high in 2011, effectively immunizing an estimated 83 per cent of infants with three doses of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine. But one out of every five infants did not receive this vital vaccine, leaving them exposed to potential disability or premature death. UNICEF and its partners are responding to this challenge to ensure that every last child is successfully immunized.
