In 2000, it was 5,900,000 people. In the developed world, about 330,000,000 people have high blood pressure, as do around 640,000,000 in the developing world. The WHO estimates 1,560,000,000 adults living with high blood pressure by 2025. 37% OF MEN dying from a heart attack were smokers. (Germany, 2008) 38 % OF WOMEN dying from a heart attack were smokers. (Germany, 2008) 78 % OF MEN dying from a heart attack had a high blood pressure. (Germany, 2008) 80 % OF WOMEN dying from a heart attack a high blood pressure.
