10 Triggers of Rosacea Flare-Ups Rosacea is a skin condition where the blood vessels in the face dilate which gives the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead a flushed appearance. SPICY FOODS HOT DRINKS 1. Hot peppers, hot sausage, and cajun-styled foods. Lower temperature or limit consumption of coffee or tea. 2. ALCOHOL 3. Red and white wine in particular have the highest percentages of triggering a flare-up. EXTREME WEATHER Always bundle up and cover face with scarf when walking around in the cold. 4. THE SUN 5. It is best to stay away from these drugs as they dilate blood vessels and rosacea is a condition that is characterized by wide blood vessels.
