By the 1920s, most Italians had moved west of Bathurst Street and the College-Clinton area had become the city's major Little Italy. In the 1960s businesses made the move from here to the Spadina location and eventually formed what is now the present day Chinatown. Many were students and as a result, settled in close proximity to the University of Toronto (about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Korea Town). Starting from the 1960s, Portuguese immigrants found their way to Little Portugal and made it their new home. He successfully drew other businesses into the area - many of them from Bangladeshi, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan backgrounds.
