South East Asian Twists on Classic Cocktails

SE ASIAN TWISTS ON CLASSIC COCKTAILS Indochinese food uses unique and delicious flavours inspired by special herbs and spices - here are some SE Asian twists on your favourite classic cocktails. CORIANDER COLADA ЕQUIPMEЙТ- • Blender Large cocktail giass ИСРЕРЕИТS- • 50 ml Coconut Rum • A handful of fresh Coriander • 10 ml Cream of Coconut • 100ml Pineapple juice • A few slices of fresh Ginger • Half a Lime • 5 ice cubes METHOD Place all the ingredients in a blender, squeezing the lime in and disposing of the rind Blend for 30 seconds to a minute Pour the mixture into a large glass (or a hollow coconut husk) and enjoy! THE TURMERIC OLD FASHIONED EQUIPMEЙT- • Cocktail Spoon • Bourbon Glass • Vegetable Peeler ИСРЕРЕИТS- • 50ml Good Bourbon Whisky • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric • 1 Orange • 1 Teaspoon Honey • Cubed Ice METHOD- Add the whisky, turmeric and honey to a wide, flat bottomed glass. Fill the glass with cubed ice. Using the curved end of a bar spoon, stir around the edge of the glass quickly until the ice begins to melt and dilute the mixture. If needed, add more ice. Using a vegetable peeler, peel a long segment of orange peel. Using the thumb and forefinger of both hands, twist the peel sharply over the drink to release the orange oil Rub the hard edge of the peel around the lip of the glass & voila! A turmeric old fashioned LEMONGRASS, LIME & THAI BASIL MOJITO EQUPMEЙT- • Cocktail Spoon • Highball Glass • Muddler ИСРЕРЕИТS • 50ml Light Rum • 1 Lime • 1/2 Stalk of Lemongrass • 2 Teaspoons of White Sugar METHOD - Chop the lemongrass stalk into thin slices and add to the highball glass with the sugar and Basil leaves. Add the limes on top. Muddle vigorously. Fill the glass to the top with crushed ice, then add the 50ml light rum. Using the cocktail spoon, agitate the ice, ingredients and rum until they are well mixed and the ice is slightly melted. The ingredients should be distributed throughout the glass - not just at the bottom! FRESH GINGER COSMO EQUIPMENT - • Boston Tin • Mixing Glass • Muddler • Strainer • Martini Glass INGREDIENTS - • 50 ml Vodka • A few slices of Fresh Ginger • Cranberry Juice • ½ Lime • White Sugar • Cubed Ice METHOD - Muddle the sugar, lime and ginger in a mixing glass. Fill the glass with cubed ice and add the vodka and cranberry. Place the boston tin on top and shake vigorously (the drink should look cloudy) Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass and enjoy! CHILI MARGARITA EQUPMEЙT - Boston Tin Mixing Glass Muddler Strainer Margarita Glass INGREDIENTS - ½ Red Chili 1 Lime 10ml Agave Syrup 2 teaspoons of White Sugar 50ml Gold Tequila 25ml Triple Sec Salt METHOD - Chop the chili into thin slices and cut the lime into 8 segments. Muddle the chili, 7 segments of lime, sugar and Agave syrup. Fill the mixing glass with cubed ice and pour the Triple Sec and Tequila on top. Place the boston tin on top and shake vigorously Run the remaining lime segment around the lip of the margarita glass and then shake salt over it to coat the edge.
