SHALE STORY: pennsylvania The development of the Marcellus shale is providing a new energy boom to the Keystone state. Production of shale gas in the state is generating tens of thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions in federal, state and local taxes. Pennsylvania is a case study in how responsible development of the nation's vast oil and gas resources can create jobs and stimulate our economy.
