Bio Fuels

BIOFUELS Bio-Alcohol Biodiesel Ethanol Methyl Butanol Most commonly ethanol, and less commonly propanol and butanol, are produced by the action of microorganisms and enzymes through the fermentation of sugars or starches or cellulose Refers to a vegetable oil- or animal fat-based diesel fuel consisting of long-chain alkyl (methyl, ethyl, or propyl) esters. Biodiesel is typically made by chemically reacting lipids with an alcohol producing fatty acid esters. Ethyl Propanol Propyl Vegetable Oil Animal Oil Vegetable Oil Green Diesel Straight unmodified edible vegetable oil is generally not used as fuel, but lower-quality oil can and has been used for this purpose. Used vegetable oil is increasingly being processed into biodiesel, or (more rarely) cleaned of water and particulates and used as a fuel. Is produced by hydrocracking vegetable oils and animal fats.Hydrocracking is a refinery method that uses high temperatures and pressure with a catalyst to break down larger molecules into shorter hydrocarbon chains used in diesel engines. Bioethers Biogas (Also referred to as fuel ethers or oxygenated fuels) are cost-effective compounds that act as octane rating enhancers. They also enhance engine performance, whilst significantly reducing engine wear and toxic exhaust emissions. Greatly reducing the amount of ground-level ozone, they contribute to air quality. is methane produced by the proce anaerobic digestion of organic material by anaerobes.lt can be produced either from biodegradable waste materials or by the use of energy crops fed into anaerobic digesters to supplement gas yields. The solid byproduct, digestate, can be used as a biofuel or a fertilizer. of H3C CH3 H3C CH3 BIOFUEL Syngas Carbon Monoxide Hydrogen Hydro Carbons Is a mixture of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and other hydrocarbons, produced by partial combustion of biomass, that is, combustion with an amount of oxygen that is not sufficient to convert the biomass completely to carbon dioxide and water. The resulting gas mixture, syngas, is more efficient than direct combustion of the original biofuel; more of the energy contained in the fuel is extracted. The main reaction that produces syngas, steam reforming, is endothermic with 206 kJ/mol methane needed for conversion. The first reaction, between incandescent coke and steam, is strongly endothermic, producing carbon monoxide and hydroge. When the coke bed has cooled to a temperature at which the endothermic reaction can no longer proceed, the steam is then replaced by a blast of air.

it is form of a fuel that contains energy the carbon fixation caused geologically. All bio fuels are produced by living organisms, for instance plants and microglae. The biofuels are made are made up...
