TOP 10 MOST EPIC HELICOPTER SCENES Some of the best action movies include at least one helicopter scene. And who doesn't love a good helicopter scene? The stunts and effects that they pull off make for some cinematic fun! At Hillsboro Aero Academy, we love helicopters, so we pulled together a list of our top 10 favorite helicopter scenes. From the heroic to the goofy to the most awesome, we hope you enjoy our picks. #10. The Italian Job (2003) In this scene, Steve (Edward Norton), is chasing Charlie (Mark Wahlberg) and his crew as they attempt to evade him in their Mini Coopers. Charlie has just stolen millions of dollars in gold from Steve, and while being chased, he gets separated from the rest of his group. Since he is the ringleader, Steve decides to pursue him. After some impressive driving maneuvers, Charlie finds himself trapped under an overpass. But that's not going to stop Steve who flies the helicopter under the bridge and hovers to block Charlie in. With a gutsy move, Charlie escapes but not without the side of his car being ripped apart by the tail rotor of the helicopter. 1111111111 #9. The A Team (2010) Hannibal (Liam Neeson) is being held in Mexico by two federal officers but has now escaped and rescued Face (Bradley Cooper) and enlisted B.A. Baracus (Quinton Jackson). Then the team goes into an army hospital to recruit Murdock (Sharlto Copley) to help them flee in an army helicopter. And the pursuit begins as another helicopter chases them trying to bring their helicopter down. After several close calls, they lure the other helicopter into American airspace where the U.S. Air Force shoots it down for trespassing. AMBULANCIA #8. Wolverine (2009) Logan, also known as Wolverine, (Hugh Jackman) has just escaped from a facility that was trying to erase his memory. During the escape, he comes across a barn where an elderly couple helps him, but moments later the barn is attacked. Logan barely escapes on a motorcycle. Logan is being chased by trucks and a helicopter piloted by Zero (Daniel Henney). Logan takes out one of the trucks, rides up to the next one and gains control of the machine gun coming face-to-face with the helicopter. A missile is fired, Logan lunges toward the helicopter causing it to wreck. He then slashes the fuel tank to make it explode. Zero is heard screaming inside. At this point, Dia (Kagiso Kuypers) has been taken captive to become a child soldier by Captain Poison (David Harewood). Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) has called in the coordinates to Coetzee (Arnold Vosloo) who orders an airstrike. #7. Blood Diamond (2006) Captain Poison is threatening Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) that Dia will die if he doesn't find the diamond. Vandy refuses to give away any information. Archer is seen in the background waiting for the airstrike. Right on time, the helicopter arrives and fires missiles saving Vandy. Vandy seeks revenge on Captain Poison, and Archer saves Dia while the helicopter continues to take out the camp. The Joker (Heath Ledger) has been causing all sorts of chaos and mayhem in Gotham from blowing things up to disguising hostages as his own mob members. Now he has the whole town trying to stop him including Batman (Christian Bale), and Gordon (Gary Öldman) and the police force. #6. The Dark Knight (2008) Mob members have set up a trap for the police helicopter. The helicopter flies into the trap, and it becomes tangled in wires causing it to lose control and crash. #5. Live Free Or Die Hard (2007) John McClane (Bruce Willis) and Matthew Farrell (Justin Long) are trying to escape from a helicopter that is chasing them. They race off in a car and drive into a tunnel where traffic has been rerouted to block them in. After avoiding many collisions, they finally wreck the car. McClane walks through the wreckage, and hops into a Homeland Security car, but up ahead the helicopter is waiting at the end of the tunnel. McClane speeds towards the helicopter, which fires shots at the car, causing it to catch fire. McClane jumps out of the car. The car perfectly smashes into a tollbooth giving it enough air to take out the helicopter. # 4. The Matrix (1999) Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie- Ann Moss) escape the Matrix only to notice Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) has been captured. Neo and Trinity send themselves back into the Matrix to rescue Morpheus. With Trinity piloting the helicopter and Neo on the mini-gun, they hover in front of the interrogation room. Neo takes out agents while Morpheus breaks free from his chains and runs toward the helicopter. Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) shoots at Morpheus and a bullet hits him in the leg making it impossible for him to jump far. Neo attaches himself to the helicopter with a rope and dives out to grab Morpheus. With Neo and Morpheus barely hanging on, Trinity manages to get them safely on a rooftop. The helicopter starts losing power, but Neo is still attached to it by the rope. Trinity grabs the rope attached to Neo and cuts it out of the helicopter and Neo pulls her up onto the roof, safe for a moment. # 3. The Guardian (2006) The U.S. Coast Guard is sent out during a massive storm to save a crewmember of a sinking ship. Ben Randall (Kevin Costner), a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, spots an emergency flare and jumps out of the helicopter into the water to rescue the drowning person. During the daring rescue, the helicopter gets hit by a piece of the ship's cargo causing the pilots to lose control. The helicopter crashes into the water stranding Ben. # 2. Black Hawk Down (2001) A civil war has erupted in Somalia and U.S. soldiers have been sent in to capture two of the warlord's top lieutenants. While the soldiers are rappelling out of the helicopter, one falls and is severely injured. A Black Hawk helicopter is sent in to retrieve him. IS When the Black Hawk arrives for the rescue it's shot down by an RPG and crashes deep within the city, killing the pilots and wounding the other crew members. This leads to a daring rescue to remove the trapped soldiers from this dangerous area. #1. Mission: Impossible (1999) Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) has been outed as the mole for IMF (Impossible Missions Force) all thanks to Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Phelps tries to kill Ethan in a train but fails. Phelps attempts to escape by climbing on the roof of the train where Krieger (Jean Reno) is waiting with a helicopter to rescue him. Ethan follows Phelps to the train's roof where they begin fighting. Ethan tethers the helicopter to the train right before entering a tunnel so the helicopter is forced to enter the tunnel. After a few close calls, both Ethan and Phelps jump on the helicopter.
