Roland SH-1000 1973 Roland's first instrument .A monophonic synth with a single oscillator. It has been used by Vangelis, Human League, Blondie, The Band, and Jethro Tull! Roland System 100 1975 The System 100 is a great and classic analog synth! It's a beautiful semi-modular monophonic synth consisting of 5 module components. The choice of a true nerd. www.ww Korg MS 20 - 1978 The MS-20 was one of Korg's first major successful portable analog monosynths. Used by Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Cirrus, Depeche Mode, Queen, Supertramp, Kenny Kirkland, Jean-Michel Jarre Roland Jupiter 8-1981 Roland's first truly professional analog synth. With 16 analog oscillators at and eight voice polyphony. This synth is on almost every single record involving synthesizers in the eighties PPG Wave 2 -1981 The analog/digital hybrid Geman PPG Wave 2 series still sound fantastic. They use digital samples of wavetables and analog VCA envelope and VCF (filter) sections to produce their lush sound. Yamaha DX7 - 1983 Definitely one of the most used synths of the Eighties. Hard to program, but the presets were useable and others could be purchased. This synth was played by everyone in its time, Period, YAMAHA DX . Prophet VS - 1986 Prophet VS Finally a radical new sound in a synth arrived. The Prophet VS used Vector Synthesis as its revolutionary new means of sound creation. It totally rocked, but it broke down a lot. Roland D50 - 1987 The D-50 is still just as popular today as when it first came out. Sweeping pads, bell sounds and super percussive hard attacks. This baby had it all. UNfotunately everyone agreed and the tubular bell sound became an irritating part of a bunch of eighties records.
