LEARNING WITH ORIGAMI: THE EASV WAY – PART I Ever wondered what was possible with merely a blank piece of paper? Of course you have. Although - having thought about it - it's not a lot, right? Well, prepare to be pleasantly surprised because there's a whole lot more to that blank piece of paper than you may have ever realised. How about a romantic tulip? An office tie? Or even a make- believe strawberry? Paper just got interesting-you better believe it. Here are six paper folding exercises that are bound to keep you occupied. THE TULIP STEP ONE - MAKE THE STEM fold along dotted lines fold up at dotted line fold in half THE RESULT STEP TWa - MAKE THE FLOWER fold up the dotted line fold at the dotted line fold behind main fold in half part at line THE BAT fold edge up, not quite to top corner 1. 2. 3. 4. fold in half, crease and unfold fold lower corner to the upper corner leaving a tiny gap, fold the upper triangle down S. 6. fold both wings between the bottom corner and the back of the head mountain fold in half THE RESULTr 3. 8. 9. fold to the left at dotted lines fold along dotted lines forward fold out both top ends THE QFFICE TIE 2. 3. fold in half and unfold fold along dotted lines turn over fold dotted line fold down from dotted line THE RESULT repeat action 3. 8. 9. 10. fold along dotted lines tuck in flaps at dotted lines turn over turn over THE TACPOLE 1. 2. 3. fold in half fold in half open the parOto make space 4. S. 6. flatten to triangle stick the eyes and finished fold backwarn in the dotted line THE RESULT THE RABBIT 1. 2. 3. 4. fold bottom approximately quarter of the way. fold up in half fold from left to right and unfold fold the bottom left and bottom right towards the center crease S. 6. fold the bottom tip upwards a little flip the model over front to back. 3. 8. THE RESULT fold the top of the rabbit's head back and tuck behind the face. decorate with eyes, nose, whiskers and mouth.
