The Cars of... FAST AND FURIOUS The first in the series of six Fast & the Furious movies exploded on to our screens in 2001 to the sound of screeching tyres, rumbling exhaust notes and heavy bass lines. The story revolved around an undercover cop becoming part of a street racing gang in order to infiltrate a team of thieves. Eventually, the undercover cop falls for the sister of one of the street racers, and they all become good friends. However, the plot is merely a side-line to what the franchise is really all about.. Cars and action, both of which live up to the film's title in dramatic over-the-top style. Each release has seen an increase in budget, meaning even more stunts and even more cars. Fans the world over just can't get enough, with box office takings almost tripling between the first and fifth films. For me, there's only one reason why I keep on coming back for more... the cars.
