Battle of the Bruces: Enter the Dragon vs Die Hard

BATTLE BRUCES OF THE July 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of both the release of martial arts blockbuster Enter the Dragon, and the death of its legendary star, Bruce Lee. It also marks 25 years since Bruce Willis exploded onto the big screen in the first film from action-packed franchise, Die Hard. What better way to honour these infamous action heroes than a face off?! ENTER the DIE VS DRAGON" HARD Let battle commence! Round 1: Ultimate knockouts LEE: Lee vs. O'Hara Lee takes out O'Hara, a man far larger than him, in incredibly small but unbelievably powerful moves. WILLIS: McClane vs. Gruber A limping McClane confronts Gruber on the top of the building. McClane shoots Gruber and then rescues his wife from the terrorist by simply unfastening her watch - genius! VERDICT: Willis gave us one of the most legendary and explosive action scenes of all time, but knowing that Lee performed all of the stunts himself makes him the real winner! LEE WINS! Round 2: Film fan rating ENTER the DIE DRAGON HARD 77* 83% VERDICT: There isn't much in it, but the people have spoken. WILLIS WINS! * scores averaged from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes Round 3: Body counts 32 Enter the Dragon 20 Die Hard VERDICT: Bet you thought that there were more bodies to be found in Die Hard, didn't you? Time to re-watch. LEE WINS! Round 4: Quote-ability "Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; you put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; you put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." "Yippee ki-yay mother***er!" LEE WILLIS VERDICT: Bruce Lee's most famous quote has inspired generations, whether they have an interest in martial arts or not. On the other hand, Bruce Willis devised the catchphrase of a generation, which is simple and unarguably to the point. It has to be a draw; we simply can't choose between them! DRAW! Round 5: Action-hero look LEE: WILLIS: Rippling torso Blood stained vest Silk pyjamas Glass shard footwear Bear scratches Designer stubble VERDICT: Lee's 'costume' is mainly made up of his impressive upper body, so he's not really known for his digs. Willis, however, made blood and dirt stained vests cool and his simple outfit has become legendary. WILLIS WINS! Round 6: Head to head (literally) LEE: WILLIS: Weight: 128-140lb Weight: 200-213lb Height: 1.71m Height: 1.81m Skill set: Skill set: Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Kung fu, Honorary black belt Jeet Kune, Red Wing chun, Judo, western boxing, fencing, created Jeet Kune Do, Nunchaku. VERDICT: Sorry McClane, but Bruce Lee would kick anybody's behind every day of the week. Twice. LEE WINS! AND THE WINNER IS...
