up Education Network Meet the staff UP EDUCATION NETWORK With the launch of UP Academy Holland this fall, UP Education Network will serve more than 2,500 students across 5 restarted schools in Boston and Lawrence. Here's a preview of the soon-to-be 350+ educators who will work in our network in the 2014-15 school year. Leadership Spotlight- UP ACADEMY HOLLAND Founding Director of Operations UP Academy Holland JABARI PEDDIE LADI OGUNRO Jabari joined UP Education Network in 2012 to work as a Ladi joined UP Education Network in 2013 as Director of Operations in Residence, supporting the school launch of UP Academy Dorchester. Prior to this, he taught in Boston Public Schools, beginning as a Teach For America corps member at the Joseph Lee Elementary. As a math and history teacher, Ladi served on the instructional Dean of Students at UP Academy Boston. Prior to this, he was a 2007 Teach For America corps member in Atlanta Public Schools. He then worked with KIPP WAYS Academy as an ELA Teacher, and Grade Level and Department Chair. The lessons that Jabari has learned as a teacher anda school leader have primed him to lead the students and staff of UP Academy Holland with a passion and skillset that will have a meaningful impact on leadership team, mentored graduate students at UMass - Boston, and helped to design the Lee's 3-year plan for middle school expansion. His recent work as an Education Pioneers Fellow in New Founding Principal UP Academy Holland York City inspired him to leverage his knowledge of the classroom with operational excellence to drive schools toward success. students. staff Spotlight 34% BILINGUAL UP ACADEMY HOLLAND In 2013, 48% of students at the Holland Elementary School spoke English as a second language.
