Chinese Proverb STEP Become an Innovator: HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE Innovation isn't something reserved for the chosen few. We can all be innovators, in our own individual ways, marching through new doors to create better lives for our students. HERE ARE FIVE WAYS TO BRING MORE INNOVATION INTO YOUR WORLD: EMBRACE CHANGE. Don't be afraid to mix things up. I Switch gears. Adopt new attitudes. Change perspective. Become flexible. Learn to become uncomfortable. 2 EXPERIMENT MORE OFTEN. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." NEVER STOP LEARNING. The moment you vow to become more learner than educator is the moment you'll become a more innovative educator. 4 BE AN EARLY ADOPTER. While patience is a virtue, so is boldness. Be first in line. Jump in. Become the example. The trendsetter. TAKE A CHANCE. As Kurt Vonnegut said, "We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing our wings on the way down." Calculated risk is the key to innovation. OUR FUTURE IS A CHOICE. CHOOSE WISELY. LL Technology can become the 'wings' that will the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before-if we allow it. - Jenny Arledge Resources WebWiseTutors your online tutoring partner http://www.pbs.org/kcet/publicschool/evolving_classroom/technology.htmi http://www.panasonicforbusiness.com/2012/11/history-of-classroom-technology/ http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/09/19/magazine/classroom-technology.htmi?_r=0 http://www.vintagecalculators.com/html/nistory_of_electronic_calculat.html www.webwisetutors.com http://blogs.kged.org/mindshift/2013/06/six-big-trends-in-education-to-follow/ http://www.innovationexcellence.com/blog/2013/07/29/10-emerging-educational- technologies-how-they-are-being-used-acioss-the-globe/ http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/major-tech-in-education/ http://www.knewton.com/flipped-classroom/ http://techcrunch.com/2013/11/12/makerbot-wants-to-put-a-3d-printer-in-every-school/ http://worldsofeducation.org/en/magazines/articles/30 http://sloanconsortium.org/publications/survey/changing_course_2012 https://net.educause.edu/ir/library/pdf/ERS0607/ERSO6074.pdf 2]
