BACHELOR OF APPLIED HEALTH SCIENCE CLINICAL AESTHETICS The Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics) is a three year full-time (or part-time equivalent) course that has been designed to provide students with opportunities for employment in a range of health service industries to support the practice of Clinical Aesthetics. Graduates of the degree will be equipped for careers as clinical aestheticians for; Dermal Therapy Clinics Health Care Clinics Fitness Centres Aesthetics Clinics They will also have expertise for: Graduates may choose to become members of professional associations and industry peak bodies which support and promote high ethical standards and practices within the health and wellness industries. Pre and post-operative patient care support (in the area of wound healing) Cosmeceutical, aesthetic and dermal equipment product such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser. DO00 Being part of a professional health care team Opportunity for self-employment Course Content Human Biosciences Applied Health Science Health Communication and Management Clinical Aesthetics Practice Studies in human biology, anatomy and physiology, pathology, histology and the effects of stress and ageing. Studies in the ethical and professional standards and practices within the Australian health care system, the biology of wellness, stress and ageing, the science of nutrition, and the role of therapeutic interventions in aesthetics Studies that equip students with tools for professional communication, practice management, critical thinking, evidence-based research and understanding the psychology of clinical aesthetics. Provides opportunities to integrate and consolidate health science theory and practice in a supervised clinical environment.
