The Impacts of Eyjafjallajökull Eyjafjallajökull is one of the smaller glaciers in Iceland. There is a volcano on its icecap and on March 20 and April 14, it erupted. The second eruption was twenty times more powerful than the first and the ash produced affected European airplane traffic significantly. 1.
