It may be time to consider upgrading to high efficient equipment to reap the benefits of a more comfortable home and lower energy bills! Many newer systems come with Variable Speed Motors and equipment with Multiple Stages including a higher SEER rating. Get a free estimate from your trusted air conditioning contractor to consider your options. 28% WATER HEATING Constantly heating the water in your home can take another big chunk of your energy costs. Upgrading to a tankless water heater will save you money by only heating on demand and not keeping a whole tank of water hot all day when your not home. Just like gas furnaces you can choose different levels of efficiency when buying a new tankless water heater. Installing hot water shutoff valves on your shower head can help you save by turning off the water when it reaches the desired temperature. 4% STANDBY VOLTAGE Standby or phantom voltage is the power your devices and appliances use when they are off but still plugged in. Make it your practice to unplug device chargers and unused gadgets until you need them. You can also get plugin power outlets that let you keep stuff plugged in but shut off power to them when off. 14% ELECTRONICS Over the years the average home has significantly increased in the number of gadgets, devices, TV's, and appliances, all which can take up to 14% of your energy costs!
