WHAT SOCIAL NETWORKS DO SMBS USE TO REACH CUSTOMERS? We looked at over 20,000 SMB websites to find out what social media links are embedded on their home pages. We classified these businesses into National Brands (ie. e-commerce or web-based businesses) and Local Businesses (brick-and-mortar businesses). Local Business National Brands NEARLY HALF of all SMBS link to facebook on their homepage. For this analysis, we looked at websites of businesses that indicated to Brandify they had less than 500 employees. 'Local Businesses' are typically those which operate a bricks-and-mortar location and serve a specific geographic region. 'National Brands' provide services or products nationwide. Websites were surveyed during the week of June 2nd - 8th, 2013.
