LIN 1832 The telephone is invented, allowing the first remote speech communication. 1876 Colleges begin teaching office skills. 1880 100,000 people in the US begin working as secretaries, stenographers, and typists. 1900 Taylorism was created ("Scientific Management"), focusing on work efficiency. 1920 Clerical work gains popularity and increases by 450 percent between 1900 and 1930. 1930 "Office landscaping", also known as the movement towards office space 1950 planning begins. The first business computer, LEO I, runs its first program. 1951 ะจะจ The cubicle is invented. 1968 1970 A Federal agencies begin to experiment with "flexiwork" The term "cloud computing" is first used. 1997 2000s Cloud computing technologies begin to appear. 2010 U.S. Census reports a 46% increase in 2016 homebased workers between 1997 Telecommuting employees are projected to increase by 21%, totaling to 3.9 million remote to 2010. workers.
