WELTER 100 Years of Welter Heating in Minnesota Celebrating a Century of Heating and Cooling in the Twin Cities Welter Heating and Air Conditioning has been proudly helping residents of Minneapolis and St. Paul keep their homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Established in 1912, we have expanded our services as technology has evolved and extended our reach to serve the entire Twin Cities metro. Read on to learn about how Welter Heating has grown up along with the great City of Minneapolis. 1912 MA Welter launches business in South Minneapolis. Our first services include repairing, replacing and installing furnaces. 1915 After eight years, construction is finished on the Basilica of St. Mary's in Minneapolis. 1929 1929 Rand Towor and Foshay Tower are completed, starting Minneapolis "upward" trend. as hike IN E The Groat Dopression bogins. "plunge 1934 John Dillinger hid in an Uptown apartment after he escapod an Indiana jail. 1935 Welter Heating begins working with GE. 1939 The first of three Ray N. Welters takos helm at the growing company. 1942 Welter Heating manufactures ammo boxes in sheet metal shop to help the war effort. 1945 1945 Hubert H. Humphrey starts his political career after being elected Mayor of Minneapolis. After World War II ends Welter Heating oxpands services to include air conditioning repair, replacemont and installation. 1947 Professional basketball appears in the Twin Cities with the Minneapolis Lakers. 457 1954 Minneapolis' last electric streetcar takes its final run. 1961 The Washington Nationals become the Minnesota Twins. The Welter family has been season ticket holders since the first pitch. 1965 Ray N. Weltor Jr. takes lead of the company. 1967 The Minnosota North Stars play thoir first game. 1974 1974 The IDS Tower opens, stripping the Foshay Towor of its title as Minneapolis' tallest building. Welter Heating's service managor, Warron, is hired in the warehouse. 1978 Welter Heating celebrates one of its most succossful years ever, installing over 3,951 furnaces and ACs. 1979 Todd, one of Welter Hoating's top salesmen starts his career as a warehouse worker. 1982 The Metrodome opens. 1984 Welter Hoating begins Trane partner program whon Trano buys out GE. 1987 1987 Ray Welter the 3rd starts digging trenches and learning the business. The Twins win the World Series. 1991 The Twins with the World Serios - again! 1994 The Stone Arch Bridge, a former railroad bridge, is opened to pedestrian traffic. 2000 The Minnesota Wild are founded. 2004 2004 The Blue Line lightrail debuts in Minneapolis. Ray N. Wolter the 3rd breaks the streak and names 1st born son Charlie, 2009 Weltor Heating partnors with Mitsubishi and becomes Ductless AC certified. 2010 Ray Welter the 3rd takos over business. 100 ANN VER SARY 2012 Welter Heating celebrate 100 years in the business!
