Widely used bio-fuels are ethanol and biodiesel. Global bio-fuels production is expected to grow 0.5 million barrels per day (mbpd) over the medium-term, with volumes rising from 1.9 mbpd in 2011 to 2.4 mbpd in 2017. Even with rapid growth, the industry still may not meet total market needs by 2021.
