Called the IBM 3800, it was capable of printing 180 sheets per minute and was worth $17,000 1 In order to fuse toner to paper, laser printer fusers heat up to nearly 400 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the paper moves so fast that it cannot burn. Laser printers are generally considered to be more accurate than inkjet printers. Color laser printers can provide photorealistic prints at 2400DPI. 3 Each laser printer cartridge represents nearly one gallon of oil. This oil was used in the process of plastic creation and transportation of the cartridge to its destination.
