SYDNEY DOGS AND CATS HOME SAVING LIVES IN SYDNEY The last 12 months have been a fantastic success for Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, with some exciting new initiatives completed and many more planned for our animals and team members. At Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, we believe that every animal in our care is very special. Every lost dog or abandoned cat deserves a loving and happy new home and that is what our dedicated team of professional carers aim to achieve each day. 2999 TOTAL ANIMALS IN 1ST JULY 2011 30TH JUNE 2012 1571 cats 52.4% 180 birds, рocket pets, other 1248 dogs 41.6% 6% As an open intake pound for 11 councils we receive animals in every possible condition YOUNG | OLD | SICK | HEALTHY | INJURED LOVED | NEGLECTED 843 ANIMALS RECLAIMED 76 9 CATS 5.01% BIRDS, РОСКЕТ PETS, ОТHER 4.71% When animals are reclaimed, they are reunited with their families who are very relieved to find them happy and well at the Home. 758 DOGS 61.43% A 5% reclaim rate for cats is sadly above average. We encourage all cat owners to and keep their address details up to date. microchip ANIMALS 556 ADOPTED When animals are adopted, they officially become part of a loving new family! 36 birds, pocket pets, other 206 cats 13.57% 18.85% 314 dogs 25.45% We helped 314 dogs find a forever home! 457 ANIMALS TRANSFERRED FOR REHOMING An a-meow-zing 313 cats have been transferred for rehoming this year! When animals are transferred for rehoming, they are placed with vet hospitals, pet shops, the Cat Protection Society and other reputable like-minded rescue organisations with an aim to increasing their adoption opportunities and exposure.
