As every parent knows, struggles over bedtime routine can be one of the toughest power fightss you’ll have with your kids, it doesn't matter if they’re six or sixteen. The truth of the matter is, ...
a lot of kids just refuse to go to bed at night. As a parent you should know their fears (if they have one) for their bedtime routine.
It might be because they’re afraid they’re going to miss something. With other kids, it might be because they’re afraid of the dark, or frightened to go to sleep. Or worst for some kids, it is simply an issue of wanting to be in control. Bedtime routine just becomes another battle field with kids, everytime they will try to fight with you. However If you’ve ruled out being afraid of the dark, bedwetting issue, and other fears, that leaves us with worst of them all which is behavioral issues—to be in control.
It doesn't matter what your child's age or sleep issues, you need to be consistent and persistent with bed routine.
"Getting kids to get in bed and stay there is a struggle for lots of us. We discovered a simple way that worked for our 5 kids...just took is thinking only slightly different about our goal with bedtime and sleeping." says Dr. Fred Lybraand of http://college-ready.com/
