Top 6 Tourist Destinations in Agra Taj Mahal "The seven wonders of the world", built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It was completed in 1653. The Taj Mahal is described as a symbol of eternal love. Shah Jahan built this monument in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is built by white marbles and stands on single red sandstone and is surrounded by the 4 miners. The hymns of Islamic language have been inscribed all over the wall and the floor and the wall is mosaic and is decorated with 1 precious stones. Agra Fort Agra Fort was built by Akbar in 1565. But during the reign of Shah Jahan the red fort was reformed. Other buildings in the fort are the Pearl Mosque, Jahangir's Palace, Diwan-e-Am, Diwan-e-Khas (public and private audience halls), Shish Mahal, Musammam Burj and the Khas Mahal. 2 Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb Noor Jahan wife of Jahangir ordered to build this mausoleum for her father Mirza Ghiyas Bagh. This monument was built in white marble and is decorated with precious stones. He was titled of Itmad-ud-Daula and the mausoleum took his name. Fatehpur Sikr Fatehpur Sikri was built by Akbar in 1569 and was the capital during the mughal reign (1571-1585) but due to natural calamities and insufficient of water the capital was shifted. The monument was built by red stone. The place till now stands as the art and architecture of the mughals and their way of ruling. 4 Akbar's Tomb The tomb of Akbar was built in 1613. The building is made by red sand stones and some touch of white marbles. The southern gate is similar to Taj Mahal with 4 marble chatris. The whole area is built in 119 acres and serves as an attractive tourist spots. With all due respect the real tomb is kept in the basement while a fake tomb is kept on the marble pavilion. Jama Masjid This monument was built of red stone and marble and tokk 5000 workers and 6 years to complete. The monument was built in 1648s by Shah Jahan. Shah Jahan ordered to build this monument in dedication to his favorite daughter Jahanara. The archway has Persian inscription praising the father and his daughter. It con- sists of 5 arched entrances. The main entrance is on the eastern side. Jama Masjid stands facing the Agra Fort. The prayer chamber is decorated with small towers with alternate kiosks.
