A 'New Normal' for UK Holidays: Camping & Glamping Infographic

PITCHUP A 'new normal' for UK holidays 2020 caused a huge shift in the way we travel and opened our eyes to the nature on our doorstep. To keep up with increased demand, farmers, showgrounds and stately homes across the country set up temporary campsites under relaxed planning rules, giving people the opportunity to experience a new type of holiday. Where were people booking in 2020? Unsurprisingly, 95% of bookings last year were domestic. The map below shows the top ten locations by volume of bookings, as well as the less frequented locations, with the average price per person per night* for each region. Aberdeenshire (£26.50) Stirlingshire (£35.83) Berwickshire (£19.34) 6. 4 Cumbria North Yorkshire (£29.82) (£25.65) (£52.32) Merseyside 8. And it's hard to imagine a travel sector better positioned post-pandemic: truly accessible to all, with the space to socially distance and the novelty of nature after months of isolation indoors, camping is the perfect way to embrace life after lockdown.
