Driving – What’s the Norm Worldwide

DRIVING WHAT'S THE NORM WORLDWIDE? Driving a vehicle allows us to travel, go to work, school and generally get from one place to the next. However there are some differences in how driving is approached around the world. DRIVING ON THE LEFT / DRIVING ON THE RIGHT There are 76 countries, territories and dependencies which drive on the left. One of the biggest influencers of driving direction was Henry Ford, who designed his Model T with the driver on the left. That decision meant cars would have to drive on the road's right. Canada, Italy, and Spain changed to right-side driving in the 1920s. Most of Eastern Europe changed in the '30s. Scandinavia waited until the 1960s. Most former British colonies, with some exceptions, drive on the left side of the road, whereas the United States of America, Latin American countries and European countries drive on the right. Conversely, driving on the left-hand side of the road usually implies that the driver's seat is on the right-hand side of the car. Almost always, in countries where. one drives on the right-hand side of the road, the cars are built so that the driver sits on the left-hand side of the car. ***** LIST OF LEFT HAND DRIVING COUNTRIES United Kingdop Ireland Quapan Nepal OBhutan India Banglades Thàlland Malaysia Guyana Surtname Ugand Malaw Tansania Zambi Indonesia Mozambique Namiba Žimbabwe aotswana Australia esotho South Africa Left hand driving Right hand driving AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL DRIVING?
