Why Ford's 'Blue Oval' Couldn't Be More Green
Why Ford's 'Blue Oval' Couldn't Be More Green In recent years, Ford has made it a priority to reduce worldwide greenhouse emissions. The average North American drinks the equivalent of a 20 ounce soda each and every day 25 bottles of water are used in the carpeting of each 2015 Ford Escape. In 2013 alone, Ford produced 2 million EcoBoost Engines. With that in mind, each American could recycle enough bottles in a year to provide the amount needed to co-carpet 15 new Ford Escapes. In 2011, the average Ford vehicle emitted 0.91 metric tons of greenhouse gasses. In a span of only 2 years, the company managed to drop that number to less than 0.78 metric tons per Ford vehicle. The Ford Motor Company and H.J. Heinz are currently working together to try and turn tomato skins into floor mats. 9% 40% Since 2013, the Ford Motor Company has reduced greenhouse emissions by 9%. Between 2011 and 2016, Ford's pegged to reduce waste per vehicle by 40%.
