Weight: 737kg • Almost 1.6 million were produced • The styling of the 4th and final generation Anglia (pictured) was heavily influenced by the U.S & featured ä backward slanted rear window (allegedly to keep the window clear from rain - we're pretty šure it was just because it looked cool) 1422 mm 3912 mm • Anglia's featured in hit TV shows such as Z Cars, Heartbeat, the Young Ones and more recently in the Harry Potter films Weight: 767kg Mk 1 1968 - 1974 1486 mm • Introduced in 1968 as a replacement for the Anglia • 2.1 million units produced • Available in 2/4 door saloon, 2 door estate and van • 940cc - 1994cc engines available inc Lotus Twincam 4045 mm • As a result of its success as a rally car (it won the '68 & 69 World Rally Championships) the RS1600 & Mexico high pérformance versións were developed • Cosworth name makes an appearance for the 1st time in a production car with Cosworth cylinder heads used on the RS1600 Weight: 880kg Mk 2 1974 - 1980 • 1st mk2 Escort was produced on 2nd Dec 1974 & was codenamed 'Brenda' 1414 mm • The mk 2 Escort became the most successful rally car of all time. It won Every RAC Rally from 1975-1979 & the 1979 World Rally Championship at the hands of Hannu Mikkola 3975 mm • The 2 Itr Cosworth BDA engine in the works rally cars was producing as much as 270bhp by 1979 • RS1800 was the first Escort to feature fuel injection • RS2000 launched in 1976 with unique 'Droop Snoot' ROTHMANS ROTHMANS 2MAHXJUG Coşmetic changes in 1978 gave the 'L' models luxurious updates including a glovebox!
