MUST -SEE NEW CARS FROM THE 2014 DETROIT AUTO SHOW. Each year, the Detroit Auto Show kicks off a brand-new year with a slew of brand-new vehicles with the latest looks, technology, and performance. It's home-field advantage for the Big Three-and the chance for every automaker to break out with a hot new sports car, convertible, truck, or futuristic concept car. Along with big debuts from GM, Ford, and Chrysler, this year's Detroit Auto Show is also the first place to see the newest Mercedes-Benz, the latest BMWS, and a new luxury car from Hyundai. If you can't brave the cold to head to Cobo Center this year, here's what you'll be seeing in showrooms soon-and don't forget to follow all the latest news from the Detroit Auto Show. This year, the show isn't just a playground for the Motor City's home teams, even though it's staged on their turf. 2015 FORD MUSTANG The first brand-new Mustang in decades, it's also the first to have a more refined independent rear suspension. The sleek styling owes some cues to Ford's sexy Fusion-but all the muscle comes from the top engine, a 5.0-liter V-8 with more than 400 horsepower. 2015 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZO6 Last year Detroit was the birthplace for the C7-the seventh-generation Corvette. This year, a higher-performance edition is said to pack more than 600 horsepower, and is paired with a new in-car Performance Data Recorder videocamera for capturing perfect laps and times. 2015 CHRYSLER 200 A sleek new mid-size sedan joins Chrysler's lineup for 2015. The new 200 four-door gives the automaker real competition for the Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, and Hyundai Sonata, with a choice of four- and six-cylinder engines and available all-wheel drive. 2015 SUBARU VWRX STI The Subaru WRX is a touchstone for a whole genoration of young driving enthusiasts. With the latest version already revealed, It's time for the even hotter model tuned to STI power levels and grip. Due for 2015, the new WRX STI promises to be sharper, quicker, and more aggressively styled than ever. 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS Now that it sells a compact front-drive CLA, the Mercedes-Benz lineup needs a true mid-size family of cars. It gets it with the new C-Class, emerging in Detroit in four-door form. More than 200 pounds lighter than today's car, the new C-Class also has a new home-it's being built at the Mercedes factory in Alabama, alongside the M-Class. 2015 BM W M3 & M4 BMW's split its sedans and coupes into 3-Series and 4-Series cars, and in Detroit the Meditions get their star turn. The track-worthy M3 and M4 duo debuts in Detroit, with 0-60 mph times dropping below the 4-second mark, thanks to a 425-horsepower, 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six. 2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS The Hyundai Genesis set the pace for a new generation of South Korean-made luxury cars. The new 2015 Genesis pushes the idea of a luxury Hyundai even further, with edgy styling, a choice of six- and eight-cylinder engines, available all wheel drive-oven integration with Google Glass. 2015 FORD F-15O The next F-150 Is expected to be the biggest debut at this year's Detroit show-and the biggest surprise. Ford has kept the detalis under wraps, because the F-150 could revolutionize trucks as we know them today. With pienty of ighter-welght aluminum on its body, the new F-150 could drop hundreds of pounds ftom its curb weight, while keeping the towing and payload numbers that full-size truck drivers demand.
