CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES (O+ PARIS - Your weekend guide WHERE The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the 8th boulevard which is part of 20 arrondisements in the city of Paris, France. Typically, the 8th arrondisement is said to be 1.9 kilometers long and 70 meters wide. The neighbouring arrondisments are the Ist, 9th, 16th and 17th. o FASHION Champs-Élysées has been a fashionable district since the 170O0's which starts at the Place de la Concorde and ends at the Arc de Triomphe. Many of the higher/boutique stores can be located on the Avenue Montaigne which attracts the affluent clientele from around the world. Today, the 8th arrondisment and in particular The Avenue provide the best fashion experience as a district and is a popular place for Parisians PUBLIC TRANSPORT The Paris metro line l passes through under Champs-Élysées. You can find the following stations through Champs-Élysées: Champs Elysees Clemenceau (line I and 13), Franklin Roosevelt (line I and 9), George V (line 1) and Etoile (line I, 6, 2) metro stations. ATTRACTIONS Of course you have the Arc de Triomphe close by, however there are a bag full of places to see. You can hop on to a open top bus for a guided tour or maybe you want to go out in style in a convertible. These tours allow you to see the real illuminated night life when the district is really alive. E AT&DRINK Some Parisians say the food joints have depicted the class of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées although there is food for everyone from your favourite fast food joints to the Michelin star restaurants. NIGHT LIFE A tip for the night life in Champs Élysées is to dress to impress and be prepared to again dig deep into your pockets. Venues such as Le Queen, Le Duplex and Le Pavillion are full of up class socialites who are ready for a good night.
