Agile VS Waterfall WHAT IS AGILE? WHAT IS WATERFALL? Agile is a way of thinking. It's an iterative process of managing your projects so that your team can achieve maximum results. It consists of 12 major principles known as the Agile Waterfall is a linear process strictly followed from the beginning to the end. There is a lot of planning involved as opposed to Agile where planning and documentation are lacking. Manifesto. PROS PROS You can make constant Iterations. Thus, you can optimize your product for maximum customer satisfaction. Everything is mapped out before you start working. Thus, you know what are the time and cost estimates. Projects are broken down into smaller tasks. Therefore, you can prioritize your assignments from vital to secondary. Waterfall is pretty easy to understand. You can manage your projects effortlessly and move forward without facing any hurdles. Face-to-face interaction enables you to bring everybody on the same page. The processes are made to be simple and straightforward. CONS CONS There is a lack of documentation. Therefore, you won't be able to see a clear picture of the end product that you are trying to develop. It's risky because you can't make any changes. Therefore, if something goes wrong, chances are you'll have to start all over again. Team commitment is absolutely essential. If your team isn't 100% into the project, you'll have a hard time utilizing Agile. It usually takes a couple of months for the client to start seeing results.
