Li-Fi in Hospitals Infographic

VERSA V TECHNOLOGY I Li-Fi in the Hospital Li-Fi is a relatively new connection method that can connect users to the internet using LED Lights. Researchers from Pukyong National University envision using this new technology in hospitals to eliminate wired connections that power and connect medical devices to the internet. EEG Researchers have been able to successfully 50 cm transmit EEG brain signals via Li-Fi. Li-Fi EEG * Results .5 100 Millivolts These initial Li-Fi trials .5 to 45 yielded weak signals "from one half to 100 millivolts and frequencies between one half and 45 hertz" according to Hertz wwwm Network World.* RGB LEDS The EEG scans generated relatively weak signals and RGB LED light sources were used to amplify these signals. RGB LED Light transmits Li-Fi signals to EEG sensors that comprise of three photodiodes with red, green and blue filters. EKG The research team has also been able to obtain Electrocardiogram (EKG) readings that report the electrical activities of the heart. EOG Li-Fi could also potentially support Electrooculography (EOG), a technique that measures the distance between the front and back end of the eye. *Source: http://www.networkworld.com/article/2980951/lan-wan/light-based-networks-could-replace-wires-for-hospital-patients.html

Li-Fi is now being used for EEG brain scans which would eventually result in less wires connected up to patients in hospitals.
