THE COOGLE PRODUCT MURDERS S Google has given us some world changing products over the past 17 years such as Gmail, YouTube, Android and of course Search. However Google aren't afraid to kill off many of their well loved projects if they aren't profitable or well used. POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS - CRIME SCENE - POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS - CRIME SCENE Google Code January 2016 Google Google Code (now Developers) is Google's site for software development tools, application programming interfaces (APIS), and technical resources. The site contains documentation on using Google developer tools and APIS-including discussion groups and blogs for developers using Google's developer products. It was announced in March 2015 the site would close code due to the rise of services such as Github. Google Helpouts - April 2015 Since launching in 2013, Helpouts was a place for people to connect with experts on topics they want to learn about or seek advice and solutions to everyday problems. Google Offers March 2014 Google Offers was a service offering discounts and coupons. Initially, it was a deal of the day website similar to Groupon, but it later changed focus offering smaller discounts to local businesses. 1 POLICE LINE-DO NOT CROSS - CRIME SCENE - POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS - CRIME SCENE Google Latitude August 2013 Google Latitude was a location-aware feature of Google Maps, developed by Google as a successor to its earlier SMS-based serviceDodgeball. Google latitude Google Reader July 2013 Google Reader was a popular content application and platform provided by Google that was an aggregator of content served by RSS feeds. It was created in early 2005 by Google engineer Chris Wetherell iGoogle - November 2013 Google originally launched the service in May 2005. Its features include the capability to add web feeds a "Google Personalized Homepage" to "iGoogle" Google Health - January 2012 Google Google Health was a personal health information centralization service (sometimes known as personal health record services) by Google introduced in 2008 and cancelled in 2011. Google Knol April 2012 Coogle Knol was a Google project that aimed to include user-written articles on a range of topics. The project was led by Udi Manber of Google Knol Picnik April 2012 picnik Picnik allowed users to edit images, add styles to imported images and use basic editing tools such as cropping and resizing an image. Users could import photos natively from Facebook, Myspace, Picasa Web Albums, Flickr, Yahoo Image search, Google+ and also offered options to upload from a computer or to upload from a website. Google Buzz December 2011 Google Buzz was a social networking, microblogging and messaging too] that was developed by Google and integrated into their web-based email program, Gmail. Aardvark September 2011 Aardvark was a social search service that connected users live with friends or friends-of-friends who were able to answer their questions, also known as a knowledge market. Google Notebook September 2011 Google Notebook was a free online application offered by Google that allowed users to save and organize clips of information while conducting research online. Google Labs July 2011 Google described Google Labs as "a playground where our more adventurous users can play around with prototypes of some of our wild and crazy ideas and offer feedback directly to the engineers who developed them. Google Gears June 2011 Gears, formerly Google Gears, was software offered by Google that "enables more powerful web applications, by adding new features to the web browser. gle Google Wave August 2010 Wave is a software framework for real-time collaborative editing online. Development was handed over to the Apache Software Foundation which started to develop a server-based product called Wave in a Box. Dodgeball 2009 - Dodgeball was a location-based social networking software provider for mobile devices. Users text their location to the service, which then notifies them of crushes, friends, friends ' friends and interesting venues nearby. Google acquired Dodgeball in 2005 and discontinued it in 2009, replacing it with Google Latitude. Jaiku 2009 |diku Jaiku was a social networking, micro-blogging and lifestreaming service comparable to Twitter. After Google finished off Reader in 2013 many have speculated that Feedburner which was bought by Google in 2007 might be next. FeedBurner was founded by former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Eric Lunt, Steve 0lechowski, and Matt Shobe. FeedBurner Blogger 2016? When created by Evan Williams in 1999, Blogger was the easiest way to create and maintain a blog. But the world has moved on.
