How Do You Use Yours? THE BATTLE OF MOBILE DEVICES It's no secret people are consuming content in record numbers, but did you know that what, when and how is strongly tied to which device they're using? We looked into traffic trends based on audiences who browse content across our network of premium publisher sites to see how they differ on each platform. DESKTOP TABLET SMARTPHONE ARTICLES VS. VIDEO COMPARING TOTAL VOLUME OF CLICKS ON ARTICLES AND VIDEO For articles, smartphones account for 36% more clicks than tablets; for videos, tablets account for 250% more clicks than smartphones. ARTICLES VIDEO 14% 10% 76% 82% 14% 4% > CLICK THROUGH RATES (CTR) Smartphone CTR for articles is 34% higher than desktop CTR. By contrast, smartphone CTR for video is 29% lower than its desktop counterpart, while tablet CTR for video is 29% higher than on desktop.
