The survey, which started in 2005 and is produced annually, aims to assess levels of participation in sport and recreation within England. % of adults playing sport for 30 mins at least once a week 2005-06 34.2% 15.5 MILLION adults now take part in 30 mins of sport at least once a week! 2007-08 35.8% 2008-09 35.7% 2009-10 35.3% 2010-11 34.8% 2011-12 36% 0% 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% 30% 35% 40% How does that break down regionally? 35.6% The region with the highest participation rate 36.1% is the 36.3% SOUTH EAST 35.3% 33.5% The region with the lowest is 36% WEST MIDLANDS 37.4% Battle of the sexes MORE MEN regularly take part in sport than women BUT 41.1% 31.1% girls are on the up!
