March Madness Coffee Break Planner

MARCH MADNESS "COFFEE BREAK" PLANNER* *All times are EDT and subject to change based on length of games. THURSDAY, MARCH 21 O Get to a TV Hours 12 12:15 First game tips off and we're underway. (3) Michigan State V. (14) Valparaiso (6) Butler BUILER V. (11) Bucknell RICKNELL (8) Pittsburgh PITT V. usu (9) Wichita State Keep an eye on all these games to time your first TV break. 3 2:15 - 3:30 Lunch time. All three games have a chance to be exciting. We're assuming (4) St. Louis handles (13) New Mexico St. V. 4:30 - 5:15 Time to visit the, uh, mailroom. Watch for upsets in both these games: 5 (3) Marquette V. (14) Davidson (6) Memphis V. . ** (11) St. Mary's East coasters get an hour of family time before retreating to the glow of their television. West coasters, you still have one more break to take. 6:30 - 7:30 Unless Southern can shock Gonzaga, then Oregon and Oklahoma State is the last game with upset potential so be ready to "duck" out. (5) Oklahoma State v. 0 (12) Oregon 9. You're home free! The break in games lets every time zone finish the day and mentally steel themselves for one more day of elusive basketball intake. FRIDAY, MARCH 22 12 12:15 (2) Duke ) V. (15) Albany This one should equal two hours of relative security, but last year Duke bowed out in round one as a two-seed, so keep a watchful eye. 2:30 - 3:00 Lunch Part I: The scheduling Gods do not shine brightly upon this day. With an hour between tip offs for (5) Wisconsin V. M (12) Ole Miss (8) NC State V. (9) Temple you will need to be prepared to move your lunch forward or back. Or maybe even split it into two mini-lunches. That's allowed, right? 3:30 - 4:00 Lunch Part Il: The Wolfpack and Owls may very well be in a barn-burner here, so have a contingency plan in case of overtime. Slam some coffee and type your fingers raw! This is it. Your final window to present theillusion of productivity. Make it count. 4:30 - 5:30 %3D Oh, no! Maybe there is a terrible problem with... that thing... that's always causing problems. Get out of that office and catch the end of (7) Creighton Jane V. Ĉ (10) Cincinatti then shortly thereafter see if an upset is in store for 8. (13) TBA V. (4) Kansas St. By now you're likely on fumes. Make your time count by asking your boss a pointless question just so he knows you're still there. 6:30 - 7:00 %3D The last bastion. It's only the western time zones left fighting this good fight, and hopefully 10 (7) Illinois V. (10) Colorado rewards them with a buzzer-beating finish. (11 That's it. You've made it. Now hurry home and let the weekend-long retinal damage set in. Can you feel the burn? It's what March Madness is all about. *All start and end games are estimated, so pay attention. An overtime game in the morning means the afternoon games at that venue will get bumped back. Ivisual.ly Designed: anibalinfographics Research: Brian Janosch
