The History of Air Jordans

Othe history of AIR JORDANS 1984 through 2014 Jordan initially refused to wear "Bred" (black and red) colored versions of the Air Jordan because he believed they were "devil colors." Peter Moore designed both the first Air Jordans and the Air Jordan "Wings" logo, which appeared on I and II. The Wings were replaced by the "Jumpman" logo, a silhouette of Jordan dunking from a LIFE Mag- azine photoshoot, from III on. Jordan grew up as an Adidas fan and wanted to sign with the compa- ny. Their offer was nowhere near Nike's, so Jordan made the switch. The original Air Jordan design was so revolutionary that the NBA banned players from wearing them, as they violated its "uniformity of uniform" rule. Jordan contin- ued to wear them, incurring a $5,000 fine per game. Jordan wore a brand new pair of Air Jordans every game.
