Many who take part in the series do so for charity, but they're also reported to be life- TIME changing experiences. 60 Miles DISTANCE HAUTE ROUTE AND PYRENEES CYCLE Keen cyclist Simon Nicholl has undertaken many From Geneva challenges for charity, including a 12-day cycle ride, To The Pyrenees LOCATION in the Alps and Pyrenees, coving 1000 miles and ascending over 120,000 feet. On the way he overcame many obstacles such as riding in 40°C heat and having his bike stolen, but he still managed to raise £4,600 in 12 Days TIME total. 1,000 Miles DISTANCE RACE ACROSS AMERICA From California To Maryland RAMM is one of the toughest bike races in the world, LOCATION with this year's course starting in California and finishing Maximum 12 Hours in Maryland. The race crosses 12 states and participants can choose to take part as individuals or in a relay team. TIME Each year the event raises over $2.5m for a wide range of charities. 3,000 Miles DISTANCE 223 MARATHONS The London After the death of his premature nephew Ethan, Noel Bresland vowed to run 223 marathons in his memory - Eye LOCATION one for every day of his short life - and raise money for 1 Per Day children's charities. The route took him through TIME some of the most remote places on earth, including the Gobi Desert, and saw him raise over £23,000. 10,000 Miles DISTANCE THE DEATH RACE The Green Mountains, Pittfield, There's a lot of mystery surrounding The Death Race, as Vermont no-one actually knows what they sign up for.
