James Donn bought the track in 1994; the family ran Gulfstream until 1990 when it was sold to Bertram and Dianne Firestone. Frank Stronach bought the track in 1999 for $89.2 million. Grandstand was torn down in June 2004 and rebuilt, it reopened in January 2006.
