But: According to TweetDeck, its users send roughly twice as many tweets as do users of Twitter.com. That moves Tweet Deck's impact up from 3 to 6%. That puts it just below the major Twitter mobile clients, but roughly 50% more important than TwitPic. According to the above data, third-party apps make up 14% of all unique Twitter users. If they all have similar ratios to Tweet Deck, then we can see that they roughly one fourth of all sent tweets. In other words: while services like Tweet Deck aren't used by many people, they may hog the conversation. So, as time goes on, the percentage of people using third-party clients that bring in lots of data can be used as a gauge of Twitter health. The more people use them, the more addicted users Twitter has. There are more than 300,000 Twitter applications and more than 150 million Twitter accounts. 1/4th of Twitter users use the service throughout the day.
