National Volunteer Appreciation Month is celebrated in the month of April to recognize the impact of volunteers on the lives of individuals and the community. Throughout the state, there are numerous ...
volunteer opportunities in Utah, including mentoring and offering support to the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU). BBBSU relies on the efforts of volunteers to help carry out their mission of defending the potential of children and youth ages 6-18.
Celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Month
Volunteers strengthen the community and make a difference in the life of those whom they serve. BBBSU volunteers that choose to become mentors dedicate a minimum of one year toward mentoring a child. During Volunteer Appreciation Month, we encourage their mentees to thank their mentor; here are a few ways to do so:
Write your mentor a thank you letter
Call your mentor on the phone to thank them
Make a slideshow of photos of you and your mentor
