VHS Hydraulic Components Complete Hydraule Component Supply REXROTH HYDRAULICS A History of Innovation Rexroth Bosch Group 1795 Bosch Rexroth was formed in 1795, after George Ludwig Rexroth built a working water-powered mill. 1850 In 1850 the owners of the company based themselves in the German city of Lohr, where they obtained an iron foundry. 1972 Over the next 100 years, the company enjoyed continued success, manufacturing the first hydraulic servo valve in 1972. 1997 Their reputation continued to sore, when Bosch Rexroth built a hydraulic test facility for the European Space Agency (ESA). In 1997 Rexroth Hydraulics were used on the 'Solitaire', the world's biggest pipe-laying ship. 1999 In 1999 Rexroth Hydraulics were used in Tunnel- boring machines (TDMS), which are sometimes called 'mega-moles' by people in the industry. Mega-moles were used to excavate the Elbe Tunnel in Germany. Present Bosch Rexroth have continued to be recognised as a market leader. Their most recent development is a fuel- saving hydraulic HSS stop- start system. This system enables diesel motors to turn off, and then re-start, using saved hydraulic energy.
