The Requirements Our scope of works was to provide safe access at roof level for the following areas: Maintenance of Photovoltaic Panels General Roof Access & Maintenance The Solution We chose the MSA Latchways Constant Force Post (CFP) cable system for a complete rooftop fall protection solution. It is the only system approved by Kalzip, who supplied the roof at ELAM. The roof mounted cable system provided a non-penetrative solution, that could be flexibly designed around the requirements of the photovoltaic panels. The system was designed to keep the operatives in a 'fall restraint' position at all times, whilst accessing the roof area. Mansafe systems are vital whenever there is a requirement for people to be working at height. The purpose of a mansafe system is to protect the prevent workers should a fall occur.
