DUTCH M OUNTAIN Huizen, The Netherlands Located within hayfields and woods, in the centre of a nature reserve, this house is hardly visible. Named the Dutch Mountain, the home was designed by KRFT Architects and was constructed inside an artificial hill so as not to interfere with the surrounding landscape. The hill acts as the perfect camouflage, hiding the home from view and engulfing the bulk of the building work. CASA BAHIA AZUL Los Vilos, Chile At an initial glance, this roadside spot in Chile is home to woodlands and tranquil waterfront views. However, disguised below the trees, there is an ingenious concrete house designed by Felipe Assadi Architects. Sitting on the craggy cliffs of the Los Vilos coastline, the front of this modernist property hangs precariously over the water. SUBTERRANEAN HOUSE Bolton, UK This innovative design by Make Architects was part of the rendered plans for a hidden eco-house in the north of England for former England player, Gary Neville, who purchased the £9 million plot in 2007. Shown in the initial plans, the living area has floor-to-ceiling windows and minimalist furniture to complete the pared-back feel.
