This can have a serious impact on people's homes and businesses. It can also take place in areas where no water bodies are near. A common misconception is that you must be located near a body of water to be at risk, but this isn't the case. Flash flooding is the Flash result of extreme rainfall events or the sudden release of water over a short period of time.
