urselves. We can’t begin to truly fight against racism until we understand that the lives of safety, comfort, acknowledgement, and protections that white people live are built on systems that inversely discriminate, exploit, and endanger people who are not born white.
Once we understand our own unearned privileges, we can begin to recognize that entire systems need to be broken down. Simply being kind will never really do that. Apathy just continues to support the systems. We have to actively look for ways to break the systems of racial injustice. It all starts with educating ourselves first. Then, we can begin sharing what we know in ways we know how.
