Erez Mediterranean sea Tunnels and crossings: Movement of people and goods to and from Gaza on the backdrop of turmoil in Egypt, July 2013 In July 2013, as a result of turmoil in Egypt, traffic at Rafah Crossing and movement Of goods to Gaza via the tunnels were restricted. In parallel, the number of exits from Gaza at Erez and the amount of goods transferred at Kerem Shalom grew. Yet, the rise in activity at the Israeli-controlled crossings did not compensate for the drop in movement via Egypt.
