However, around the country, girls are being forced into marriage at a young age, diminishing their chances of a bright future. Turkish Philan thropy Funds is working with NGO partners on the ground to TAKE A STAND and put an end to child brides in Turkey. 40% 56% uneducated 2x total Turkey's national average of female high school dropouts. Early marriage is seen more in families with a low education level. Girls from poor families are nearly twice as likely to marry before 18 as girls from wealthier families. The percentage of Turkish women between 15 and 49 years of age that were married by their 18th birthday.
