THE CITIES WHERE YOU'RE MOST LIKELY TO BE A VICTIM OF VIOLENT CRIME IN THE UNITED STATES BASED ON OFFENSES KNOWN TO LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE 50 MOST POPULOUS CITIES IN THE UNITED STATES AS REPORTED TO THE FBI AS PART OF THE UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING PROGRAM.O METHODOLOGY: The Violent Crime Index compares the 50 most populous cities in the United States by violent crime incidents per 100,000 residents in each city. The data covers offenses known to law enforcement as reported to the FBI as part of the Uniform Crime Murder and non-negligent manslaughter - 3 points Rape - 2 points Reporting program. The offenses included are murder and non-negligent mansl on frequency and adjusted on a weighted scale based on crime severity as follows:- Robbery - 1 point Aggravated assault - 1 point ter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.
